Nokia E72 Details

Share!:

My worst fear had come true. They made a newer version of my beloved E71. Now I might have to be forced to fork out more money.

Nokia E72

Okay so it doesn’t look that much different apart from the flush brushed metal buttons. The big difference is in the directional pad which has a motion sensor. The video below will explain it better.

Let’s talk Specs..

Main differences:
- E72 has optical trackpad
- 3.5 mm audio jack
- 250MB internal
- 5 MP Camera
- Symbian 9.3 S60 V3.2

5MP Camera! Okay maybe it’s not that big of a deal, might just wait for the N97

What do you guys think, is it worth the upgrade?

Very cool Tilt-Shift Lens timelapse

The coolest video I’ve been this week. It’s a video of what it appears to be a video taken from a Canon 5DmkII with a PC Micro-Nikkor 85mm F2.8D & MC ARAX 2.8/35mm Tilt & Shift len. Make sure you click HD after you press play to see all its gloryness.

On another note, I am done for the semester thank goodness. I am now in hibernation mode.

New 35mm f/1.8G + Battery Grip

Nikon 35mm f/1.8GYep! I am estatic! Thanks to the good guys at PhotoContinental I finally got this prime piece of glass. Paul got me a pretty good deal on the lens. First impressions? It’s lite and small! I am already  really loving the shallow depth of field. Some sample photos included below.

My battery grip also arrived today. At first I was pretty skeptical whethere this thing really gives you that much more of stability. But it definitely does. Especially for your hand that holds the lens, you can rest your wrist on the grip rather than let it hang on the air. Focusing is very very quick compared to my 18-105mm zoom.

At f/1.8

f/5, 1/20s, ISO 1000

f/1.8, 1/80s, ISO 800

At f/5

f/5, 1/20s, IS1000

f/5, 1/20s, IS1000

Casper is actually the ghost of Richie Rich

Yup, you heard it here first! Richie Rich got mugged in a New York alley while taking some photos at night.

Casper is Richie

On a more serious note, the characters were designed by the same author (Seymour V. Reit). He died in 2001, may her rest in peace. Casper was one of my childhood memories.

Back on topic of procrastinating.. here are some more funny pictures.

Combine 48 Nikon D700 and you get this!

Came accross this interesting video that shows a rig that has been setup with 48 Nikon D700 cameras which simultaneously triggers the shutter to produce that Matrix 360 effect.

You can check out all the results at the MTV Website. My favourite was the first one with the Quest Crew doing their thing captured 360! Apparently each D700 camera has some sort of a sub computer to store each file and prepares them for the final production, it then sends it to a central computer and through complex maths algorithms, it stiches them together. It only happens in a couple of seconds!

Welcome to Shutter Tech!

The original camera phone

The original camera phone

Welcome to my new blog! I’ve always wanted to start my own blog, but never got around to it. Now that I have less time to waste, I decided to use up my study time to procrastinate productively. Wait… is that even possible?…
Read below to find out!

Who is this blogger?

Michael is an Australian student studying business. He always had an interest in business and making a mark in the world (and make a lot of money while at it). He was born in Indonesia with a Chinese heritage to boot, he then escaped the Asia market crisis in 1999 to Australia along with his family. In his life, he has one to many interests. If he’s not gaming on his computer and ps3, he has a guitar strapped on him. Michael also has a business in web development but mainly is into web hosting. Recently he took up photography. He picked up a Nikon D60 early 2008. He always had a passion for photography, but Mike never explored the possibilities of becoming a full fledged photographer. The Nikon D60 server him quite well, however he grew out of it pretty quick. By the time the Nikon D90 was announced, he started saving his money to get his mid level DSLR. It was instant love.

So he bought the D90 late 2008 and sold his old trusty D60 which he still has feelings for. The d90 is definitely a much better camera vastly richer in features.  Michael is now tired of writting in third person so he’s going to stop now.

What will Michael blog about?

He will mainly blog about technology, most probably in the camera category. Mike will provide photography related news and other kinds of technologies. He will also occasionally, provide funny pictures, videos and etc (He has a pretty good sense of humor).

Here’s one to start with:

————————————————————————————————-

Keep watch of this space! There are more to come. However, I will need your help. Encourage me to keep blogging, cause I will just go lazy. So please do comment on my posts otherwise I will become sad. :(

Cheers!
Michael.
